Donald Duck, Huey, Duey, Loie and Uncle Scrooge had always been my favorites since I was a little girl. :-) (Hence I am getting an Uncle Scrooge tattoo this August... ;-) ) I have had the Donald Duck magazine on subscription since I was six years old. Still do. I love Disney stuff, I really do. :-)
So, yay! Congrats Donald!
But what I also love is the very subtle darkness to Disney's stories. Especially there movies. I love Disney villains to. Usually more colourful then the heroes. The forest in Snowhite, for example... Shere Khan. Scar. Ursula. The Devil in Fantasia. Treasure Island in Pinocchio. The villain is not always a character, but the villain is always there, holding up an ugly mirror to us. And they can be downright horrifying if you think about it. There darkness going over the heads of the kids, but there if an adult think about it a moment... I love the nazi/Stalin march in Lionking during Scar's song comes to mind, for example... Or Ursulas maelstrom being a perfect image of the sailors fear of drowning.... Ratigan a classical mafia boss... The angry mob of people in Beauty and the Beast... Hades a picture of death that we all fear... I could go on for hours...
So yeah. I can't pick just one scary character that pops out. They are all scary in there own way, aren't they? If you start to pick them to pieces and think a bit... ;-)
Today I haven't done much, I can't say. Been pretty lazy. I was at the employment office on a scheduled meeting. But thats pretty much it. Have almost gone through a week worth of f-list in one day... o.O Never thought I'd make it, really. :-D
