This is KSena

Usually a friendly sort. Be nice to me, and I am nice to you. Here I ramble on about me, life, work and fandoms. I am a fan of Robin of Sherwood, Xena: Warrior Princess, Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tokio Hotel and Sons of Anarchy. I don't apologize for anything I write here. This is my mind. And you entered it. Welcome.

Excuse the language, but yeah... o.O Circling the wagon -friending meme rocked my socks off!

Anyway, so part of the deal was to make a post about myself, so here goes... I'll excuse my wordiness right away.

So we begin.. )

I just have to put this here, if not for my own memory. I love my LARP-friends, so so so so dearly. No matter if they're 30 years old or 15 years old. We are of ALL ages in that LARP-club. I think that is what makes it such a great club, all them different ages and experiences. We oldies help the young, and the young keeps us oldies young... Sorta. If you all get what I mean? To go there, even if I might play a serial killer vampire that night... It's still the highlight of my month. Just to meet all them people.

I've never really seen me as a brilliant LARPer, or actor for that matter. Since that's what you do pretty much. I just do this because I think it's fun. Yeah, there's a few guys that apparently love playing with me / against me. But I never gave it much thought. Apparently... they did. :-D

Every time we end a chapter, the GM's ask if there's anyone we players feel have done a good job and should get a boost for their character. Apparently some of the oldies new players felt I deserved that. o.O WOW! I'm touched to see that, really. Might not make much sense to anyone that hasn't been involved in a LARP, but I got both touched and tickled to see that. :-)

So here's what they said (Emma is my real given name):

Johnsson has been a GM in the past, and he was one of those that started the LARP 15-16 years ago or so. He's also one of the BEST LARPers I've ever acted against. So to get such nice words from him? Means the world!

Emma - I always know I'll have a very fun LARP when Emma is present. The development between our characters have been a lot of fun to follow and I hope our plans together will continue. Emma should also be praised for all the after work she is doing since most of the time I see her with the dishes at the end of the LARP and most others have gone home.

Thirre was one of the first female LARPers I meet when I started 2001. She is a gorgeous woman, really funny... And scary clever. A wonderful LARPer and actor. And she's the GM of the post-apocalyptic LARP I go to each summer, so to say she got one vivid imagination would be an understatement. She's really REALLY good! She made a list of LARPers she thought were good at acting. Including me.

Acting - These LARPers have shown acting skills either through a variety of characters and/or through different situations where the acting they've shown/done has really given a clear picture of their characters concept and personality.

Then both Tobbe, who has been around in the LARP for YEARS as well, and Lucas one of the younger and newer LARPers made a list each as well, just listing different LARPers and what they thought they were good at.

Tobbe put me down as a LARPer with Good acting skills.

Lukas put me down for Good acting and initiative.

All these things might sound a bit silly for anyone not involved with any LARPing, but for me it meant the world and really warmed my heart. :-) Silly? Maybe.

My goal now is to get my leg as good as possible so I can go to the LARP this Saturday and hug them all! You gotta have a goal right? I can walk moderately well with crutches, so it's not an impossible goal!

And, just because I can, have a few YouTube-vids and links that I've found interesting since last!

Anyone who follows me or [livejournal.com profile] peting73 on Instagram knows we suffer a fangirl in the house. Alexandra has turned into a Frozen fangirl of EPIC proportions. Not even joking. I've seen that movie by this point more times than I can count. Nearly every day she comes pulling on me. "Princess, mom! Want to watch Princesses!" which in Alexandra-speak means Frozen. We've tried to show her other Disney-movies, and they work for a little bit, but she always returns to Frozen. So when [livejournal.com profile] steinsgrrl sent me this...? I could relate. A bit to well, actually...

We are all this mom... (Snowed in with a Frozen-crazy girl)

I did include a vid about crazy swedes in my last post, and here's another vid about swedish costumes and habits. It's a really fun song! And if you think they joke in the song, I'll promise you they don't. :-D

Business Like a Swede )

I've ended up following more and more body-positivity bloggers, vlogers and basically people online. Considering I've struggled with my low self confidence for years since I was bullied in school. I founds this. And not only is that girl DROP DEAD GORGEOUS!!! Listen to her. And listen well.

Plus-Size Swimwear Lookbook )

It's people liker her, my LARP friends who keep telling me how gorgeous I am, and my family who has given the confidence I HAVE gained today. :-) The confidence to decide to buy THIS bikini this summer. I have saved up. I can afford it. I will have it as soon as a LARP-friend or my best friend gets a chance to get over here and take my measurements. :-)

Even if I'd planned to collect all vids at the bottom of this post, I'll actually start with one. The LiveJournal vid. I really like it, I gotta say. It brings up a lot of what I enjoy with LiveJournal and what might draw new users in. Will it help? I have NO idea. Only time will tell, I suppose. Meantime - Cute vid!

What is LiveJournal? )

Onwards with some links!

I found this little article really interesting. I like makeup quite a great deal, and I do lean towards the gothic look (but no black lipstift! HORROR!). And this article shows so clearly how different we are approched depending how we look and what makeup we wear. It was a very VERY interesting read!

I dressed as a goth, a party girl, and a manic pixie dream girl - Here's how my friends, partner, and OKCupid reacted

This is cute to the point one might need a kleenex... Especially if you have kids, no matter what age. I LOVE it though!

21 Photos That Depict True Modern Fatherhood

Currently creating a new LARP-character, since it's not clear if my current one is going to survive the current shit she ended up in. ;-) Anway, so I figured out a shopping list. A LARP-friend is going to sew a cancan skirt for me. And then I want the corset below and a pendant from the site below. It would ROCK! Good thing I get paid soon....

Natural Magics pendants

Now this Tumblr... I have in a tab at all times. Because it speaks the TRUTH my friends! THE TRUTH about librarian work!!!

Librarian Problems

If you haven't tried HabtiRPg yet, you seriously need to. Especially if like roleplaying games and computer games. Just saying.

HabitRPG

If you've ever been in a fandom you'll know EXACTLY what this woman is talking about. The fact that this horror-story takes place in the Twilight fandom with EL James and around the fanfic that later is published under the name... 50 Shades of Grey... It just makes A WHOLE lot better! Reading this I had a very wicked grin permantly plastered on my face.

To Much Wank to Name

You a comic-fan? You've read any Calvin & Hobbes comics? (Who hasn't?) Then you need to read this. No, I'm not kidding. You NEED to read this. Bring the tissues.

In the final minutes of his life, Calvin has one last talk with Hobbes

Keeping on the subject. If you're new here, you might not know it since I don't write that much about, but... I'm a DIEHARD Xena-fan, a Xenaite, and have been for YEARS! Add to that that I've been watching Disney-movies since I was a kid. So this really tickled me! :-D Ah yes, them baby blues...

Cool art Disney-style: Xena WarriorPrincess

More vids! This put a HUGE smile on my face! Talk about a party on that wedding! :-D

I am determined to finish this meme, even if I am beyond late by now. I don't know, maybe someone will find it amusing to read?

Might add work is being as chaotic as ever and I'm stressing out like fuck about the anti-bullying project I run. :-P At least I've hired a lecturer now. So I take that as progress. And she seems really really nice. Very professional for her age. (Malin Engelbrektsson for those swedes interested.) Currently I'm mostly panicky about the fact that I'M supposed to go out and talk to the kids in class about MY experiences being a bullied kid growing up. And I want to! I really really do... But how the hell do you even start such a class? *shakes head* I'll figure it out eventually, I'm just stressing out at the moment. :-P

Also, getting back to posting on LJ. Yay? :-P

Right, let's finish this thing! Two for now!

DAY EIGHT: a photo of you taken recently

Here's me when I was working this summer, so I guess it's one of the most resent full figure photos of me. Excuse the crappy selfie and all, but yeah:

(Click for bigger.)

And this is also me, when being crazy while hanging with my young LARP-friends:

I hope that was for everyones satisfaction? :-)

DAY NINE: list some of your favorite websites

Livejournal (obviously), Bloglovin (where I keep track of other blogs), Bookcrossing, Tweetdeck (where I use Twitter), Sweden By Night (our LARP-site), Instagram, Plurk, Goodreads, Insanejournal (where I do RP), Tradera (where I shop used and/or new stuff and sell the same, works like Ebay), Dreamwidth (out of necessity), TokioHotelFiction.Com (for my pervy needs)...

All the days!  )

Alexandra spent the night with [livejournal.com profile] peting73's mom between Saturday and Sunday. During Alexandra's birthday MIL said that it would be so fun to have her over the weekend again, so we decided to do it right away.

Gave me and [livejournal.com profile] peting73 a chance to go to the LARP together as well, wich we haven't done since December when we last did the same plan. It worked out wonderfully, and Alexandra had a grand time with her grandma. It feels so good that it works out so fine with her. I love my MIL and that Alexandra is so secure in herself and with her grandma that we can just drop her off there, is a great feeling.

Anyhow, so LARP.

Holy shit, the insanity. I thought for sure that my character would bite the dust last night. I think she broke a ton of laws. Found out more about where she came from (she's related to werewolfs, so turning her into a vampire might not have been the smartest ever...), about the werewolf she was supposed to marry... almost lost her best friend... and got staked in the heart which immobilize her not killing her, and then she got thrown in a basement for safe-keeping until her clans mates know what to do with her.

Considering her short temper, immense physical power, and the fact she's quite dumb... I'm suprised they didn't kill her on the spot. X-D I spent the whole LARP thinking "I can't get my character in worse trouble, it's not possible!" Two seconds later: "Shit. It just got worse." X-D So I had a lot... A LOT of fun!

Sadly though, it didn't appear as if [livejournal.com profile] peting73 had as much fun. His character is having a vendetta with another character, and currently... it's not going well for his character. Knowing [livejournal.com profile] peting73... The revenge will be sweet... and slow cooking... ;-) I'm sure I'll hear all about it when it happens.

So LARP is great. Work not so much.

I don't want to go to work tomorrow. :-/ Really. It was A PAIN IN THE ASS to pack up the whole library in June. Guess what? Now we have to Unpack it. And we have no time to do it, since we didn't get access to our new premise until a week before school starts. There's no way in hell that we can unpack in time. But those responsible for the move says we have to. WTH? GIVE US MORE MANPOWER THEN, gawd dammit... I'm not sure anyone is aware of this, but even in a small library there's a lot of books. That you're supposed to put up in the shelfs IN ORDER! And since we stressed so much when we packed the books, there's not always order in the boxes. So you have to check everything twice. Which takes time. And if you don't, no one will be able to find any books in the library.

I just want to call in sick or something... Blame that I need to be home with Alexandra. I just DO NOT WANT. *SIGH*

We'll get some extra help tomorrow... hopefully. I'm keeping my fingers crossed at least.

And a few days ago I found out Robin Williams killed himself. Geezes. I've always been a huge fan of his movies. Drama and comedy. An old favorite being Hook. A grand loss. And it hits close to home to. Tashé was poor and had a seriously tough life... I failed being there for her. One would think Robin Williams would have more people around that could be there for him. But I guess not even that helped. Rest in peace both of you. I miss you both already.
