This is KSena

Usually a friendly sort. Be nice to me, and I am nice to you. Here I ramble on about me, life, work and fandoms. I am a fan of Robin of Sherwood, Xena: Warrior Princess, Buffy: the Vampire Slayer, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tokio Hotel and Sons of Anarchy. I don't apologize for anything I write here. This is my mind. And you entered it. Welcome.

OK. I am going to bitch a little about this and that in this post.

But first! I got a few new followers in that friending thing in [livejournal.com profile] th_apex. *waves* If you wanna ask anything don't be afraid to ask. I don't bite. Hard. And only if asked. ;-) Other then that, just bring out the whiskey and make yourself comfortable. :-D

I also want to apologize for being missing in action for quite a while. First Christmas and then I worked my damn ass off. Man. So many people had time off between Christmas and New Years the two off us who are hired by the hour got A LOT OF HOURS!!! o.O So yeah. Been working. :-P And then I got behind like wooo on my flist and wanted to read up on it as well. Which I have FINALLY managed to do. :-) So yeah... But I am back in action now! :-D

Now for the bitching part of this post. :-P

Had an appointment this morning, and since I stayed up to late last night, I only got 4 ½ hours of sleep... So when we got back from said appointment, I collapsed on the couch. No problem, since I wasn't supposed to go to work until 4pm. I had warned about this appointment, so those we does the schedule knew I was not available during the day, only the afternoon. Well. At 12 they still called, asking me where I was, saying I was scheduled to work. WHAT?!!? Explaining the situation, they got it and all was well.

Alright. After napping the whole day pretty much and then dinner, I so went off to work. Thinking I was only supposed to work 4pm to 7pm. We have a schedule in one of the information-desks so I checked to see where I was supposed to be that day (Info-desk 1, as it turned out). And I noted it also said I was supposed to work until 8pm. Huh... I checked and yes. They needed me to stay until 8pm since they must have missed the fact the hours they'd mailed me only a couple of weeks for this week said until 7pm. No problem. I got no plans, so I stayed on.

Now, before I left, I figured it was a good idea to check so the rest of the hours for the week would fit with what I'd been told. They didn't. NOT AT ALL! And tomorrow I am apparently supposed to be at two info-desks at once. o.O

Ok, so... One might think that in a library, the biggest in this city, where librarians/information-specialists work... there wouldn't be a problem with information-flow in between colleagues. Right? Especially the FOUR colleagues that set up the schedule each week. You might think this, right? Well, WRONG!!! They don't talk to each other. Or inform each other who they have scheduled where. Which has resulted in the mess I am currently in.

Oh, and I am supposed to work 30 hours next week to. And every week for the rest of the month. Think I've got a schedule for that, or even for next week? HA HA HA HA!!! No. I haven't. shakes head*

What? Your supposed to have a life to? Must have missed the memo since I always get the shitty hours no one else wants... :-P

Well, you could do it again. :-) Don't think I'll join in again though. My f-list is slightly out of control as it is. *lol*

You're supposed to come up with a way to split yourself in two *nods*

Those 30 hours are split in chucks, right? Cause that's the crap part. 30 hours is fine when it's 4-5 whole days. In bits here and there, though, not so much. Especially when you have no car.

Clearly. *grin* Actually it worked itself out, since one of the people who'd planned the day had to be my clone. ;-)

Currently it is bits here and there. I never work the same hours each day. But they try to keep it so I have two days off each week. :-) Which has worked out so far, so I am quite happy about that.

My mom's work does that to her too, gives her the hours no one wants. Also, her schedule is inconsistent from week to week, so she's never sure when to schedule oil changes for the car, or doctor's appointments. It makes her so mad! It doesn't make you happy either. You have my sympathies! *hugs*

Oh yes. I never know from week to week when and how and where I work. X-D Various things to do in a library after all. ;-) I just wish I could have some more regular hours... At least I get two days off each week which is awesomeness!

That kind of "schedule" sucks... I really don't miss that part. And I hope you get something with decent, regular hours soon... *hugs*

Hoping so to. Talked with another librarian here in town about... this and that. And he told me he'd worked by the hour for three years before he got properly hired. :-P So you kinda need to count on that, that you have to work by the hour four 3-5 years in this city if you want to get properly hired as a librarian. :-P I think I am getting closer to three years by the day though... I am past two, that I know.

Yeah... I think that's the only way almost everywhere, and even worse where you are. (Since everybode else who found an engineer boyfriend wants to stay too... *grins*)

Oh yes... *grin* I am well aware of that. To many librarians in this city, for sure!

Feel for you, it sucks to work hours sometimes. Do the myself and always gets the hours nobody else wants, or mixed hours so I get one early morning, one late night and as I'm already there, the hours in between... Hope they learn to communicate some day soon!

It is a bit funny that information-specialists... can't pass on information. :-D It is quite hilarious in its fail. ;-)

Yeah, it isn't very fun. Not at all. I hope it'll get better next week and the rest of this month to. :-P

Yeah, I think so to. :-) Oh well, at least I get paid quite well for doing them shifts. :-P Never later then 8pm or 8:30pm though... since the library closes at 8pm. :-)
