Work, work... family and that meme!
Felt it was time for another update, since I haven't updated in a few days.
First off, thank you for keeping a civil discussion in my previous post. :-) I am glad to see so many G's fans around... and even got a few new people on my f-list as a resolot of that and off the epic G's friending meme! WOOT, WOOT! All good says, I. :-D

The first ever Georg & Gustav friending meme on
gusti_love
So fandom wise, everything is brill... Especially since I found out that the ever awesome
thilia is writing a prompt I never in my wildest dreams thought would be filled... and a Gustav-centric fic as well. o.O Girl. Damn. *worships*
Good thing I am a patient woman and can wait for goodies. :-D
ANYWAY!
This weekend was sorta busy, since I both worked and was invited to a birthday party! o.O Since it was my brothers, well... I kinda wanted to go anyway. :-P Plan had been that we would spend the night at moms checking out her renovated living room, but alas... that didn't work out.
So, Thursday, Friday and Saturday I worked in various libraries. Thursday and Friday in a smaller one, but longer hours. Worked really, really nice. And I got a lot of cudos for how I deal with visitors. :-) As would prove useful laters... I don't know why, but I have now learned that visitors to smaller libraries are more laidback, more friendly and I don't know... They just are...
Then Saturday I worked at the bigger city library downtown and hello... Visitors are more demanding and just.... more. :-P Not to mention I had to deal with one really creepy man. I was asked to keep an eye on the kids section, so I did. And this creepy old man around his 50's or 60's comes up to me... (Seriously, he had creepy written all over him... :-P) and asked me for help. Service-minded and friendly, I said sure... What can I help you with? And got the answer he was looking for girls... Not woman, mind... GIRLS... UGH! Add to the fact he was in the kids section of the library, and he got even more creepy. My gawd... WHY ME?!?!? Anyway, I said I couldn't help him with that, I can help him find information and books, nothing else. And got the answer that maybe I got information about my friends since I was taken what with ring and all... but my friends most be young and beautiful what with me being so as well... complete with a leer... I was pissed at this point, but didn't show it more then giving him short and cutting answers... (And man, am I good at that!) I finally got out of him that he was interested in politics to (and not only GIRLS, apparently), and showed him the section with books about politics and left him there... UGH! X-/
Going back to the kids section I was still swearing silently over the disgusting old man, when I got company in the kids section again! This time by an older couple who really gave off vibes of being just cute grandparents... So I asked if I could help them, and got into one AWESOME discussion instead, that perked me up right away! :-D Apparently the woman had worked as a librarian herself and now wanted to check out the library, since it is newly renovated. So we discussed that, and awesome library architecture (ended up discussing THIS library in Halmstad quite a bit... it is pure library porn...). Anyway, she was awesome and thought I was a really great librarian, since I am pretty different from most other librarians! She said that was brilliant and needed in this day and age. And she said I was one of the funniest she'd talked to as well, and told me to keep on doing my thing, that it was the right thing to do! Confidence boost, HOLY SHIT! :-D So that was made of win, one could say. :-D
After I had finished working, we went to my brothers birthdayparty which was so so much fun. :-) My brother is nuts. Nuts, but a wonderful father and husband to his wife. :-D It was so much fun to tease him and her during the evening (they both turned 30 within a month of each other...). Mom, me and
peting73 bought a quite expensive gift to them both together, original art from Ateljé Holgers. A old fashioned tractor for my brother (he is a farmhand after all. ;-) ) and flowers, roses, for his wife (she works with flowers, and love them). Since we bought the original art, it turned quite expensive, but since we bought it together, I think it was worth it. :-) They both loved it, so all good says I.
And might I add... I almost didn't recognize my mother. o.O HOLY SHIT! One could say the gastric bypass surgery has been good for her... When she started this journey she weight 113 kilos (249 lbs) was a bit depressed, didn't have energy to do anything... Now? Well, now she is down to 90 kilos (198 lbs), she looks really healthy and has no problem with her knees anymore... she got energy and isn't depressed and just... WOW... o.O So fucking awesome! She is smaller then me now!
We had a fun time at the party, but it got a bit late. I mean, it takes 1½ hour to drive there and then 1½ hour to drive home. We left at... I think around 11pm? And then I had work on Sunday to. Pretty uneventful as it were, but still... I was working from 10:30am. :-/
I am a bit disappointed at the big city library downtown. One might think that organization would be good at a bigger library, yeah? Well... I wouldn't say so. I've been doing hours there for these last three weeks... and I have yet to be able to report my hours in so I can get paid... or sign a contract that I AM doing hours there! A bit fail, if you ask me.
On the plus side those I work with are very nice, if a bit eccentric. *lol* :-D Would mean I'd fit right in, right? ;-)
Gonna go work there today to in just an hour or so. :-) Yesterday I was off from work and didn't do anything useful at all, I swear. :-P But that's what your supposed to do on your day off, right? *grin* Surfed LJ and answered comments (SO MANY COMMENTS, MY GAWD! o.O) and watched Deathly Hallows Part 1. I've rewatched the entire Harry Potter series now, apart from the last movie. And they are all very good. Except one. I must say Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is really... not good. At all. Compared to the others. So that was a let down when I re watched that one a week or so ago. :-P Randomly though, Ron Weasley fucking rules. :-D
Anyway, MEME! :-D
( 30 days of me meme... )
Day 19 – Something you regret
Easy. And sad.
As you all know my father died 8 years ago. The day before he died I had thought about calling him wishing him good luck on his trip home (he'd had hip and knee-surgery in Stockholm and was to go home the next day). But instead a couple of friends had a game-night, so I joined them. And forgot to call him. In the morning I figured I'd call him that night... Instead mom called telling me my father was dead...
I regret this to this day. And probably always will.
If you get a chance to talk to your loved ones and just saying hey... Take it. You never know when it'll be to late.
