I don't know if I've mentioned this, but I grew up with a Disney-crazed mom, and well... I got the bug to. :-) When I grew up Disney released a main feature film every Christmas (in Sweden at least) and it was tradition to go watch it as a family. EVERY YEAR! :-D

And lets not even go into the hours I've watched classical cartoon shorts and movies on VHS tapes and later DVD's with my parents. :-) It was a thing. And I still LOVE Disney-movies!

Not to mention the amount of Disney comics I've read through the years, especially Donald Duck and Scrooge McDuck comics...

Kiddo, well... She's all into Disney Junior. And wants it to be on all day, even if she doesn't watch it! She might be in her room playing not watching the TV. But as soon as we turn it off or change the channel she goes nuts. *LOL*

And let us not get into how OBSESSED she's been with Frozen! The amounts of times I've lived through watching it is... a bit insane. There was a period in the beginning of her obsession that she wanted to watch it up to 4 times a day... o.O Yeah.

But there's a few of the later movies that I have to say... Are really good! Especially the music! Yes, Frozen IS a good movie to. It's just that... I've watched it to many times at this point. *LOL*

Disney music that I can put on just because I enjoy it is at the moment the music from the movie Princess and The Frog. 1920's music? Oh HELL yes! :-D So nice. And the movie is quite good to. Although Alexandra thinks the Shadow Man is quite scary, she does enjoy the movie and wants to watch it from time to time.

The new favorite though, that have potential to be 'the new Elsa' is... Vaiana. Yes, that would be Moana to almost all of the rest of the world. In many European countries the name got changed because, well... There's a porn star in Italy called Moana, OK. And she has a trademark for her name. :-P There you go.

Alexandra REALLY likes this movie! And the music is REALLY catchy! It's gotten stuck in my head MORE than once!

I like that Alexandra loves these movies. All three of them, if I include Frozen, have pretty kick ass female leads. :-) And the main goal of the movies is NOT to get the prince! Hell, Prince Hans in Frozen is the bad guy (not a spoiler at this point, I believe) and in Princess and The Frog it's Tiana that teaches the prince a lesson or two!

Yeah, Alexandra has a thing for Tangled to, and yeah... Rapunzel IS a princess but I think she's pretty kick ass to, even if the music isn't quite as catchy in that one...

But yeah. Go Disney for bringing on the KICK ASS princesses!

And I have to admit though... I am curious at Frozen 2 seeing the rumors for it... Lesbian Elsa? HELL YES! Come on, Disney! Join the 21st century!

Work has been... hectic lately to put it mildly. I've probably said this before, but if someone comes over to me to say that it seems so calm to work in a library, I will punch them in the face. Seriously.

The school has started and with that the crazy planning for this term. When all the teachers wants to talk to me at the same time. And I'm supposed to book things with all the teachers to make sure I'll have time to visit all the classes I'm supposed to visit this term. Meaning, the sooner I start the better, but the teachers just wants me to wait and wait and wait... leaving me very little time. And will make the end of the school-term stressful as fuck. :-P

Fun times there, in other words.

On the other hand, I do like working at this school. Weird as that might sound. I like the kids and teens that come from so many different cultures. I like challanging them with LGBT picturebooks and books, considering what many gets feed regarding that at home. I like discussing with them a lot. I learn a lot. And I hope they learn something from me to. And the teachers and staff at that school is OUT OF THIS WORLD! So hard working and SO CARING! Not to mention a lot of fun to. :-D

I've been at a drinking party with these teachers... It was one of the more insane drinking parties I've been at. X-D

So even though I whine and tear my hairs out sometimes over both kids/teens at the school AND the teachers... I still love working there. :-) Funny, isn't it?

And in the end, I usually get my schedule to work out anyway. :-)

So there's that.

And my kiddo she's turned into quite the little horse girl! She goes to riding school now, every Saturday morning at 9:15 we have to be there and the class starts at 9:30. A pretty good time, I'd say.

She's had three lessons now. First one was more introduction. They learned the different body parts of a horse. That ponies were smaller than horses, but could still come in various sizes. Diffent parts of the equipment needed. What a horses needed to be healthy and happy... Things like that, but on a very simple level. The kids where between 4-6 years old. Alexandra is just 5 years old, but she was totally excited and listened carefully to her teacher!

The last two classes she's been on a horse. Last time with a saddle on and this time no saddle. She's been doing great! And the smile on her face first time she sat on a horse was PRICELESS!!!

She's so so so happy to take riding lessons! She really does love it and talks about it a lot! Sounds like she's learning things already and corrects me and Peting if we use the wrong word for something. (Already?) I'm so happy we were in a position were we could give her the chance to really explore this interest she has in horses. And the riding school we've found have been really wonderful so far. :-)

So even though the stress-factor at work is... a bit insane, life is still pretty good, I'd say. :-)

OMG! This week! *giggle snort* *shakes head* At least the weekend was great? :-D

I’m of the philosophy that you can either laugh or cry about things that happen. I usually try to laugh at weird stuff happening. So that’s what I’ve been doing this week at work. Suitable, because I had my 40th birthday this week to!

Monday one of my colleagues told us that one of our regulars is going to lose his apartment and felt horrible for him.

This man btw is a refugee and claims he's a doctor, always wants to come discuss politics from his home country, always dress very nice, always carry a briefcase, well dressed (but with a lot of clothes even in summer)... Claims though that everyone he has to deal with is SOOO rude and OBVIOUSLY racist! Not us librarians though. Strange that.

Anyway, he’ll end up homeless. A shame, and we do feel sorry for him, but what can we do? More than give him advice on where to turn to?

We find out that the apartment he’s been living in for 17 years is… a student residence… only for students. 17 years… *shakes head* Did I mention that this man is probably in his late 60’s?

Right, so onwards.

Apparently the guy that owns this apartment is a friend of his, so he gave him 11 months before he had to leave, but he hasn’t found anything. (Lack of trying???) And he is unemployed, because of course. And he claims the social services doesn’t give him any help because they’re SO RUDE! (Implying they’re racists as well.)

And so he asked us if he could keep a briefcase in our storage with his laptop and his important papers in it? Acting desperate and so my colleague, who was afraid he’d collapse right then and there, said sure, sure… A briefcase is fine. We have room. Collect your papers and come on Monday.

Monday arrive. I work my first day together with another colleague as well, so there’s three of us.

He arrives and asks to use our small baggage wheels. Then he returned… with two big moving boxes! And instead of returning the baggage wheels, he apologized and said he’d return with some more… And did so, the briefcase, a plastic bag… and ANOTHER moving box!

Me and colleague go: WTH????

And it’s continued like that. My other colleague, older and from the same country originally, went above and beyond to help him.

We’ve all given him suggestions on what to do, who to call. But we mostly just get the response that everyone are so RUDE and hard to talk to. (Again, implying everyone’s racist.)

Finally my older colleague got her husband (!) to take the car and drive all his things to a storage unit and helped him pay up the frist rent.

The other colleague has TRIED to help him sign up for different sites to find a new apartment, but he just can’t do it not even after we’ve shown him how to several times on very simple sites, he just doesn’t get how to do it.

We’ve all agreed on that it seems as if there’s something wrong with him. He can’t do ANYTHING on his own! He needs someone to stand RIGHT next to him pretty much holding his hand and telling him in detail what to do.

Also, he revealed his not a doctor but has studied at a medical university, just not as a doctor. Well, hello there. Why am I not surprised.

All he seems to want to do is discuss politics. Especially the politics of his home country. Online and in RL. And he never stops.

Anything else and he doesn’t know how to do it. Or how to deal. Also, it’s everyone else's fault and everyone’s a racist and/or rude. Except librarians, apparently. We’re good and nice. (Even me, purple hair, black clothes and all. I’m surprised I haven’t been called a racist…)

I did mention this man is in his late 60’s?

How even??? He’s been our favorite topic of discussion, because seriously??? *shakes head*

At least this first week hasn’t been boring? X-D Because we have more of these strange characters coming to this here library… X-D

Also, I had a lovely visit from my mom, her gentleman caller and my MIL on my birthday. :-D We had a really lovely time with nice food and all. And I got some NICE flowers as well! The HUGE birthday bash is going to go off start of August! :-D

The weekend has been lazy and nize. The biggest event was shopping groceries, pretty much. Good thing that, next week I’m going to the yearly post apocalyptic LARP. It’s going to be AWESOME!!!

Oh hum... I just finished off my rewatch of Game of Thrones. And my goodness, this show. I just can't even. It's so amazing. I've changed favorite characters more than once, even if one of them is quite constant. And I keep nagging on one, because FUCK HE IS SO DULL!!! Anyhow, I can't wait to see the beginning of season 7 tomorrow after work!

Yes, tomorrow I start work again. I've been on my summer vacation for four weeks now, and it's been great. It really has. On one hand it'll be good going back to work. On the other hand I wouldn't mind staying home more. Peting is staying home for three more weeks (envy!) so at least I don't have to concern myself with daycare and such things... Lazier mornings. Yes please!

I've packed everything tonight, so I should be good tomorrow. I also have the car, so that would make my morning even lazier. YAY!

Not much else to tell really. These last days before going back to work we took one day where we went to Borås Zoo for full day. And we ate out twice that day to, both lunch and dinner. Which was really great! Not sure what it is with that zoo though... but I think they're doing something right, because those animals spurt babies EVERYWHERE! X-D Even the orangutans that are supposedly really hard to breed have two babies, I think? Good match there, I'd say! *lol*

The other two days, Saturday and Sunday, we just stayed at home being lazy. Which was pretty much what I wanted. I took the time to clear out a bit of stuff to give to charity. And also I got a TON of stuff up on Tradera (swedish Ebay) so I hope I'll make some money on that. Mostly kid-clothes.

The stuff to charity is in the trunk in the car, so I'll be dropping that off tomorrow. And shop a bit for the post-apocalyptic LARP that is going to take place in two weeks. I need weird stuff that I can sell in the store my character will run. ;-)

The vampire-LARP however is on hiatus. Since there'll be a restart with it, and I wasn't to keen on joining in. Peting talked me into it though with a really cool character idea, so... we just might see what will happen there. :-)

So I'm moderately busy. It'll be worse soon, I'm sure. *LOL* At least there won't be any kids in the school for quite a couple of weeks yet. BLISS!!! ;-D

My mother is doing fairly well. She cries sometimes over Ozzy, of course. But she is doing quite well, and is doing her exercise for her arm. So I'm positive she'll recover on both accounts.
